Shooting
Shooting is part of our training programme that many of our cadets enjoy. Shooting is taught as a target sport rather than as an aggressive activity. Cadets are rewarded for their shooting skills withs marksmanship awards. To acheieve these awards cadets must meet a set level of accuracy.
There are many competitions available to cadets at all levels and also across the diffrent cadet forces.
Before a cadet can shoot any weapon they must become qualified to do this iduring Initial Weapon Training (IWT). The IWT includes a written exam and a practical Weapons Handling Test (WHT). The WHT expires and has to be retaken to remain current.
