Gliding
In addition to powered flight cadets also get the chance to fly in gliders. The gliders we use are the Viking, this is a two seat cable launched glider. 1,500 meters of cable is used to launch this gliders in a system called a Winch launch.
An average winch launch flight lasts five to six minutes, but with some skills that will be taught to, it's possible to find thermals to increase the length of flight
Those cadet's who show good gliding skills, maybe considered for a gliding scholarship.
It's possible to end up flying solo in a glider, with the cadets before you can legally drive a car
