Welcome to the 578 (Langley Park) Squadron website. On this website you will be able to find out everything you need to know about what we do as air cadets and the opportunities open to you as a member. The Air Training Corps is an established youth organisation for teenagers aged between 13 and 18 and offers opportunities that would not otherwise be available to you - flying, gliding, shooting etc - you could even fly a Glider solo before you are old enough to drive!

We also have opportunities, both uniformed and Civilian, for Adults who want to volunteer their services to help run activities for the cadets and have many of the same opportunities open to them as the cadets do.

Battle of Britain Heritage Walk

Saturday 31st October 2009

On 31st October 2009, a group of our cadets embarked on a trip around London in order to learn more about the heritage of the R.A.F. Stops included the R.A.F. Church, St Clement Danes, and the battle of Britain memorial. Overall, the cadets had a great day out in London, and improved their knowledge of the R.A.F.'s history.

What we do

We offer a wide range of activies including, but not limited to:

• Flying
• Gliding
• Adventure Training
• Sport
• Target Shooting
• Aviation Training
• Leadership Training

Through this training program we are helping cadets develop such that they have skills useful in either the services or civilian life.
